Frozen chocolate peanut butter banana bites

Frozen Chocolate-dipped Peanut Butter Banana Bites

Written By: Shantel Whitford

Prep Time: 20 minutes, plus 1 hour in the freezer

Ingredients

  • 2 - 3 bananas sliced
  • 1/3 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup of chocolate chips

Instructions

Line a pan or a plate with parchment paper. Ensure the pan size will fit inside your freezer.

Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave until smooth. Slice the bananas and add a small spoonful of peanut butter to the top of the sliced banana. Top this off with another slice of banana to make a sandwich. Dip that into the chocolate and place it on the pan lined with parchment paper. Repeat the steps until all the bananas are used. Place the pan in the freezer until frozen, about an hour. Pull out and enjoy. Keep leftovers frozen, that is if you have any.

The kids love to make these, and because you can cut a banana easily with a butter knife, this is something I love to let them make! It is a simple and semi-healthy treat that they feel is as good as ice cream! I call that a mom win! Sometimes we add sprinkles or flaked coconut while the chocolate is still warm. These are also a great treat before they are frozen. So don’t worry if you can’t wait and need to sneak a couple to hold you over before they go into the freezer!
